The Lighthouse
Tarbert

The Site overlooks the West Loch, with distant views to the mountains of Knapdale with a back drop of regenerating conifer forest. The building responds to this by arranging living accommodation over two floors with the principal rooms taking full advantage of the views to the west and north. A double storey corner balcony detail allows the living and kitchen areas to open up into these balcony areas, areas protected by a large oversailing roof.

The whole building is raised on a mound that will reflect many similar local features. The building incorporates many ‘green’ measures such as a ground source heat pump, photo voltaics and woodburning technology.

Whilst a contemporary build, the holiday home was designed to comply with the exacting demands of the Argyll and Bute Sustainable Design Guide in terms of siting, materials, form and function.
