Longframlington
Northumberland

This development seeks to meet housing demand at this vibrant rural village.  The 3-hectare site, to the north of the village centre, proposes 86 new build dwellings.  The housing mix has been carefully considered with a number of differing house types.

The key design feature is a primary central avenue with flanking ‘green corridors.  This main route links to the various sub-zones of the development.

The design of the dwellings has been heavily influenced by local vernacular.  Traditional form dwellings have been adopted with a prominent use of stone to reflect local character.  The density levels and careful positioning of dwellings is well considered in this ‘transition’ site which borders the open countryside.  This approach is strengthened via the integration of a drainage SUDS pond.
