A contemporary zinc clad extension to an existing detached dwelling near the centre of Otley. 

 

The brief was two-fold,  to create an open plan lounge area which linked the existing kitchen/diner to the rear garden, with the option to be able to close the space off on an evening creating an intimate lounge area to enjoy by a wood burning stove. 

 

The new lounge was clad internally with beech veneer MDF, providing a vintage Scandinavian feel.  The same material was used to form a corner pocket door system, where telescopic doors moved in two directions (slotting into pockets) to open the entire corner of the room into the existing kitchen area during the day.

Other works within the building contract were a new first floor extension containing a new master bedroom suite, including ensuite and dressing room.  A new dormer window was formed at second floor level with additional guest bedroom and ensuite.
