This project comprises a contemporary two-storey extension to the rear of an existing dwelling, forming a new leisure wing near Bedale, North Yorkshire

Appointed post-planning, NNA were responsible for the project’s delivery through to completion, including detailed construction information, consultant coordination, contract administration, and Principal Designer duties.

The design responds to the challenging topography of the site, requiring substantial retaining structures to cut into the hillside, as well as underpinning works to the existing house.

​

Accommodation is arranged across two floors. At ground level, the new swimming pool is defined by a feature gable window that frames views of the surrounding landscape. Additional rooms include a changing room, plant room, and new garage.  ​First floor provides a lounge and bar area, with a 10-metre-long flat rooflight, linking the spaces together.  A gym, guest bedroom, shower room and roof terrace complete the proposal.
